The Mt. Laurel Skiers (MTL) is an ALL Season Sports and Social Club and a member of the Connecticut Ski Council which offers discount ski tickets. Our members are warm, friendly, fun and interesting people of all ages. The club typically hosts weekly social gatherings which include our community meetings. Members are primarily from Connecticut and neighboring states, but some from as far away as Florida and Kentucky!

There are a variety of organized activities such as downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, biking, kayaking, golfing, seasonal get togethers AND the benefit of a newly renovated 32 bed lodge in Ludlow, Vermont near the base of Okemo.

MTL is more than just a ski club! And anyone can join to enjoy the many benefits and discounts. Explore the website to learn more.

News Highlights!

Our 31st LipSync was quite possibly the best ever! We enjoyed some wonderful acts with original songs and custom made costumes! Videos of the acts are now online: The Stripper, Boobs, A Talent Show at a Twins Convention, It's All About....., The Day My Wife Found Out About My Girlfriend, and Frozen. Plus, Joe's intro and some of his jokes. Google+ has created a slideshow of the event too (click the right arrows to advance).

A big MTL thank you goes out to Joe Mangione, Neal Fisher, Ron Scardacchi, everyone else who made the night so successful and especially the very talented crew of performers. Check out the pictures!

Member News

Faye Ewen fell skiing on Sunday at Okemo and broke a femur bone (don't know which leg). She was flown to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (Lebanon, NH) and then had surgery on Monday to insert a rod.  She is in a lot of pain but plans are to get her up today. I expect she will require rehab treatment on her release from Dartmouth.

Update (4/16):

Faye will be transferred from Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center today (4/16) for rehab:

MTL Bike Rides, May 4th through August 22nd

Bike

Biking season is upon us and we are in need of people willing to run a bike ride for the Mt. Laurel ski club. It is easy to do, and for information on how to do it, please email me at: clydeproch@sbcglobal.net, or my work email at: cproch@musicarts.com. You may also call my cell at:  860 604-7530. We have some injuries in the club which will prohibit these folks from running bike rides, so we need people to step forward and pick up the ball, or the bike. Rides are Monday evenings, starting on May 4th, and running through August 22nd, and are at different locations, depending on who is hosting them. Most of the rides are combined with the Newington ski club, so there is much friendship and comraderie between the two clubs. After the ride there is either a pizza party at a restaurant, or a cookout in the back yard of the host. Looking forward to hearing from folks willing to host a ride. Thank you, Clyde Proch
