(after all, we are a ski club!), we fill up the calendar with a
wide range of other activities. If you are interested in
pursuing recreational or competitive sports we have the activity

Our meetings are held Wednesday evenings (alternate weeks in the summer) at Whinstone Tavern at Stanley Golf Course in New Britain.
Mt. Laurel Skiers offers the best way to enjoy the winter, as well as the other seasons. While our focus is skiing, we offer programs throughout the entire year including tennis, hiking, cycling, golf, and seasonal get togethers.
Club Meetings are held every Wednesday, beginning at 7:30 pm. Often after the regular meeting, the program committee arranges for programs pertaining to skiing, club functions, and activities of general interest. In addition, annual events usually include seasonal dances, a Charity Night, Open House, and a Lip Sync Contest. For specific information, check our webpages.
The Club-run Ski Lodge in Proctorsville, Vermont offers Club members and their guests economy lodging, lift ticket discounts, special weekend events, as well as fun and camaraderie.
Club members are encouraged to improve their skiing by taking free lessons from Mt. Laurel ski instructors. Lessons are available for the beginning to the advanced skier.
Beginning in December, Mt. Laurel Skiers exhibit their racing skills at Monday Night Racing at Mt. Southington. Members compete for time with members from other Connecticut ski clubs for the racing championship title. All levels of skiers are welcome. Club members can compete against each other at the annual Club Race in Vermont which is held in February.
The club also sponsors an Annual Ski Trip. The trip location is either Europe, Canada, or the United States.
Cross Country Skiing and Snowboarding is enjoyed by our members locally and in Vermont. There is a club cross country race as well as inter-club competition, which is done in part with the Connecticut Ski Council. The activities and fun do not stop with skiing. Mt. Laurel Skiers' enthusiasm is also evident in many other sporting activities. Tennis has many enthusiasts that participate year-round in a program. The Hiking program offers spring and fall hikes in CT and an annual Fall Hike Weekend at the lodge in Vermont during October.
Another sporting activity that keeps the skiers busy is Biking. Biking begins the first Monday in May and continues through August with additional weekend riding as well as distance rides for fun and charity. Mid July has an annual bike rally in Vermont.
Golf is a Wednesday night weekly event in the summer and culminates with a weekend golf tournament in the early autumn. In addition a golf weekend is scheduled for the Vermot House.
Social Activities include parties throughout the year, with special events scheduled for Halloween, Christmas, New Years, Valentines Day, and St. Patrick's Day, as well as sports related presentations.
April is the month for the Annual Banquet. At this event, trophies are awarded. Acknowledged are the outgoing Officers and Board of Directors, and the new slate is introduced for the coming year. The Queen's Night dance and Officer Election is another spring event.
July hosts the Annual Summer Barbecue where Club members gather for a picnic with an evening of dancing and fun.
August has Mt. Laurel Skiers Tubing down the Farmington River. People not only enjoy the serene and wild of the river, but also a refreshment stop along the way. The day ends with a picnic.
September hosts a Lobster Cookout to start the fall season.
