Dear Patrick,
Where did the summer go? We've had an amazingly busy
schedule of biking, tennis, hiking, and kayaking. Members
have been playing golf at Stanley before the meetings too.
John Bazzano organized a very well-attended bike ride on
Shelter Island and the annual Tubing Party at Ned Mullin's
was a success. With Autumn on the horizon, our schedule is
packed. The complete lineup of events can be found in the
calendar.

Open House
Mark your calendars for September 19th when we schedule our
annual
Open House. This is the best opportunity to attract new
members to this extraordinary organization. Make it a point
to bring at least one potential member that night. We'll have
booths devoted to all our activities as well as
representatives of resorts and area ski shops. Raffle prizes
will include three pair of skis and lift tickets to major
mountains. Don't miss it! Download an
Open House Flyer, print several copies and drop them off
at your health club, place of employement, or any other place
where potential members might congregate. While we're on the
subject of recruiting, remember to keep a supply of our
business cards with you at all times. Available at meetings,
they have just been revised and look terrific. |

Membership Renewal Deadline has passed
Aug 31 was the deadline for our official membership renewal
time. If you're late you will have to incur a $15 fee. The
application can be downloaded
here. Please get your renewal in as soon as
possible, make sure we have your correct information & (very
important) a current e-mail address. A signed
form must
accompany your check! Please mail to the address
listed on the application. Don't you dare let your membership
in this incredible organization lapse! |
Who is this MTL member????
It's
week 3 of our contest. Kay Leatherman was the first to
correctly identify Jean Leonard last week. Identify this
member and submit your answer to webmaster@mtlski.com. Each
Wednesday at the meeting we will announce who's pictured. So
dig out those yearbooks and scan your photo. Email it to me.
If you don't have a scanner, you could just photocopy the
photo or the actual page from your yearbook. You can also
take a digital photo of the photo (don't use flash) and email
it to me. If you don't have the 12th grade photo, I guess we
could accept back to 8th grade. Earlier than that will just
be too hard to recognize. At a future meeting, we'll do a
PowerPoint presentation with "before and after" shots!

Suggestions
We're always open to suggestions. If you have an idea that
will improve our club, share it! Send your ideas to
suggestions@mtlski.com. Lisa Durland came up with an
excellent thought. She will compile a list of great places to
eat enroute to Vermont. Send your suggestions to her at
lodge@mtlski.com. By the way, you can now get
free directory assistance from Google when contacting
restaurants and other businesses. Dial 800-GOOG-411
(800-466-4411). Google does not charge for the service.

Check 'em out!
You don't want to miss Tom and Florence Knudsen's Sleeping
Giant Hike and Picnic on Sep 23rd.
