Mt. Laurel Hiking

MTL has a series of very popular Sunday hikes throughout much of the year.

 

June 20—Middletown, Seven Falls, Rick Sullivan (860-675-3403 home, 860-324-4952 cell) 12:30 pmTake route 9 south to exit 10 (Aircraft Rd). From Aircraft Road follow route 154 south for .8 mi to Seven Falls park on left. This hike is rated C, moderate. The park has many picnic tables and barbeque pits near the brook. The après hike activity will be a picnic, bring your drinks and something to eat or barbeque. I‘ll bring the charcoal.

Sunday June 27—Crescent Lake Southington. Rick Sullivan 860-324-4952 cell. 12:30 pm. From I-84 exit 32 (Queen St) go south on Rte 10 til the 4th traffic light. Turn left onto Flanders Street. Continue to left turn onto Flanders Road. Follow for .5 mi and turn right on Mine Hollow Rd. Pass Roger‘s Orchard store and take a left at fork onto Shuttle Meadow Rd. Note there‘s no road sign. Continue on Shuttle Meadow to Crescent Lake on right. Peter Marteka wrote about this hike May 15 in the Hartford Courant.
